Blood Application:

1. Make sure the test strip is in the meter and the meter is turned ON. (If the meter is off, take out the test strip and reinsert into the meter).
   
2. Check that the code matches the code number on the strip bottle.
   
3. Leave the test strip in the meter. You are now ready to apply the blood sample.
   
4. Touch the end of the test strip to the blood sample. The test strip acts like a sponge and pulls the blood into the strip through the end.
   
5. The sample will automatically draw into the applying channel on the strip. If the channel does not fill completely discard the test strip and begin again.
   
6. The meter will beep when a sufficient amount of blood is applied. The meter will count down the numbers from 9 to 1 on the LCD display.
   
7. The test result is complete when the blood glucose result is shown on the display screen.

• DO NOT "press" the test strip against the test site.
• DO NOT scrape the blood onto the test strip.
• DO NOT apply blood to the side of the strip.
• DO NOT apply blood to the strip when the test strip is out of the meter.
• DO NOT put blood or foreign objects into the test strip port.
• DO NOT add more blood to the strip once you hear the beep.
